SAPI body armor plates are made of ceramic and are lightweight. They protect Soldiers from bullets of firearms of small caliber, such as pistols, carbines, rifles, and other weapons, as well as from armor piercing projectiles. The Shooter's Cut (also known as the Swimmer's Cut) is designed for an active shooter because it allows the wearer to shoulder their rifle with improved comfort and positioning without vital coverage loss.
